Antique two-tone gold garnet locket pendant

This late Victorian era Art Nouveau locket is crafted in two tone 9ct gold with a flower garland design surrounding its frame, delicately topped with two small garnets. Inside the locket sits my hand painted squirrel miniature, done with acrylic on canvas and varnished for colour protection. The locket also bears the maker’s mark of AB, and the Birmingham assay office hallmark. Unfortunately, what seems like real “glass” on this locket is a later replacement with acrylic materials that are far more durable, though the overall aesthetics are not distracted by this flaw. The antique chain which measures 18 inches and is hallmarked 9ct is included.
